Episode 11 - Susie Figgis Celebrant

Welcome to Episode 11 of the Wed Co Podcast. In this episode we sit down with Sussie of Susie Figgis Celebrant, a passionate wedding celebrant shares her journey in the industry, from creating meaningful ceremonies to navigating challenges along the way.

SUSIE FIGGIS CELEBRANT

Most people I work with are looking for personal and relaxed ceremonies that will tell their story, celebrate their unique love, and feel relevant and true for them.

My job is to listen and clarify what couples are dreaming up for their ceremony, as well as their married life ahead, then deliver an engaging experience that hits all the right notes for them.

It’s a creative and connected client/celebrant relationship that results in ceremonies that are unique and beautiful every time.

Finding Your Celebrant

Start by looking at a handful of Celebrants and plan to chat with your favourite one first.

Do they speak your language and seem interested in your story? If you get a ‘full body’ yes to them that’s great, look no further, but you may also need to speak with others until you feel this perfect fit.

“Good story tellers must listen.”

Will your love story be shared in a way that rings true for you and your people?

I love it when couples feel immediately connected with how I talk about their ceremony. They seem to trust that I can help them with all my experience, my deep listening skills, and my obvious reverence for love.

It’s in our planning and prep time where the real magic happens so that every Ceremony ends up feeling perfect for each couple. .

Budgeting

With Celebrants, you get what you pay for, so don’t skimp on this important part of your day. We are the ones who create and hold the energy in those precious moments, and your celebrant choice will either compliment or seriously conflict with the experience you are hoping to have.

Choose wisely as you (hopefully) have in love, follow your hearts and read their reviews, then you know you can’t go wrong.

Vows

Look for a Celebrant who will guide you to create meaningful promises to each other that will travel with you through your marriage providing a blueprint for your life together.

My Philosophy

I’ve done a great job if people approach me at the end of the ceremony saying…

Wow you just captured them so beautifully”
